Sol'a Kakiri
Framed for Murder and branded a Heretic, this Ishgardian Miqo'te seeks to clear his name and reclaim his life.
Essential dignity
Sol'a's upbringing was anything but normal. His mother, Sol, was a beautiful Moon Keeper bard hailing from Gridania who used her music to lure children out of abusive households in the night to bring them to a group of Miqo'te women who would raise them as their own. Branded as a criminal, she fled to the south shroud where she met Sun Seeker L'azahn Tia, a seasoned Black Mage who had fled Ul'dah after setting fire to the Brass Blades' barracks for reasons he had never disclosed. The two met in the South Shroud and fell in love, eventually bringing life to Sol'a and his three older sisters. They lived rather happily in their little corner of the shroud, with little contact to those that might endanger them. That was, of course, until the eldest sister, Myr, happened upon a young Ishgardian Astrologian named Alois who had traveled to the shroud for his studies. Time passed, the family came to trust Alois, and he and Myr grew closer and closer with each other. When Alois and Myr discovered that Myr was carrying his child, much to their surprise, the Astrologian invited the family to stay with him in Ishgard. Eager to escape the nation that had branded them as criminals, Sol and L'azahn gladly accepted. The family trekked up to Coerthas, snuck into Ishgard, and were warmly welcomed into Alois' home. The man's parents were nothing but kind to the little family, treating them all as their own kin during their stay. For the most part, the family stayed inside with the exception of Myr, who had made a place of herself in the Astrologicum. Sol'a, who had been very young when they arrived, spent many many years simply reading and learning on his own in the attic, where he felt the most comfortable. He gained his own fascination for Sharlayan Astrology in his teen years, and received overwhelming support from his family, who even went so far as to go out to the highlands with Alois to aid in his studied. Sol'a used to sneak out on occasion while the family was camping, studying the stars and even managing to befriend a young Dravanian named Rangvaldr.Of course, all good things must come to an end. The family embarked on a rather dangerous excursion to locate a relic that Alois wanted to study, which required they scale the cliffs of the Highlands. Sol'a was set to the front of the party to test the strength of the ice shelves, seeing as he was the smallest and most agile of the group. In his excitement, he crossed over a particulary weak shelf, not realizing it had cracked and beckoning his family to follow. As Alois stepped onto the shelf, the ice broke and the family plummeted into the canyon below.Sol'a spent hours lying in the snow where he had watched his family fall, hoping the frost would take him. Luckily, Rangvaldr discovered the distressed Miqo'te and carried him home, earning a few spear wounds before fleeing to Anyx Trine. The youngest of Sol'a's sisters, Mena, who had stayed behind on account of her own pregnancy, accused Sol'a of murdering their family, and the two made a tense journey back to Gridania so that Mena could deliver her child safely. Of course, Mena saw fit to alert Gridanian authorities of her family's 'murder', and so Sol'a was left right back where he started, wandering the Shroud until a Knight of the Holy See tracked him down. Luckily, the Knight, nicknamed Mari, listened to his story and swore to be his Champion in a Trial by Combat.

- Astrology, especially of the Sharlayan variety. He's studied it since he was young, so any Astrologian willing to chat is free to do so!
- Dravanians. Sol'a has befriended a few, most notably Rangvaldr (Pictured in the Extras Panel). If your character has Dravanian blood, has any ties to a Dragon, or studies or wants to know more about them, This could make for a good interaction!
- Ishgard. Sol'a spent almost twenty three years growing up in Ishgard, and was later wrongly accused of Murdering his Family. He became a wanted criminal there, so if your Character lived in Ishgard, they may recognize him that way. Especially if your character is a Knight.
